I would have liked the network to put the English translation on the screen. I know you say that most artist can't be understood , and I agree with that. But it appeared he was telling a story. It was lost to me. I didn't enjoy his music; but maybe if I knew his message, I would have found some point to his performance. Call me old fashioned; but this halftime was not for me.

Tegan — this was such a clear, grounded take. What I appreciated most wasn’t whether you liked the music or not, but that you actually watched it before forming an opinion. That feels increasingly rare.

“Music isn’t a transcript” and “an abstainer can’t be the critic” both landed hard for me. There’s a big difference between discomfort and disengagement — and curiosity really does cost about twelve minutes.

Also, the point about choosing comfort over curiosity… that’s not just a halftime show issue. That shows up everywhere right now.
